Senior Apparel Production & Compliance Specialist

Most sourcing failures are documentation failures. This journal is where Jerry Li writes down what he sees on the factory floor — supplier vetting, fabric performance, and the QC gates that stop a bad batch before it ships.

Jerry Li works out of LeelineWork’s factory in Suizhou, Hubei Province. The catalogue he oversees runs from chef whites and hotel uniforms to hi-vis vests and flame-resistant coveralls, and he still spends most of his week on the floor rather than in an office.

“Compliance isn’t a certificate you buy once. It’s a process you run on every single batch.”
Jerry Li — On why documentation beats promises

Much of the job is unglamorous. That can mean reworking a knit that shrank differently in bulk than it did in the sample yard, or chasing a dye lot that ran half a shade off the first roll, or sitting in on an inspection when the two before it were borderline.

He writes for the people who sign the purchase order and then live with what turns up: procurement managers, compliance officers, and founders placing a first production run. The articles assume you know the basics and go straight for the part a supplier is least likely to volunteer.
